Well our next stop was over to the house that now stands in the circle overlooking the rocks.  We meandered around back to check out the view and except for the pavilion in total disrepair, the rocks as well, weeds everywhere, the old concrete portion of the dock jack hammered to pieces and no fence at the water's edge things looked almost normal...oh, there were 2 new beautiful wood docks jutting out into the lake:

Well we carefully climbed and I mean carefully, over the black barricade. The rocks are not in good condition, many of the stairs have shifted, obviously from 10 winters of neglect and many of the rocks making up the seating are in equally poor condition. We walked down to the pavilion which has seen better days for sure.  We did notice that someone had left the doors unlocked on the closet and all the oars and life jackets had been stolen...boy is Gary Markoff going to be pissed, he always said no one but waterfront people should be in the there!

Then we turned to the right and walked out onto the new docks to take a long look down the lower camp bunk line towards the beach.  This was the swim that I took many times during my summers at camp, but I must admit it looks a LOT longer today than it did 32 year ago. The shack on the beach is still there but it now has nice new windows and siding but you surely can still recognize it as a camp structure

But what definitely did not look like a "camp structure" was the house down in the area of bunks NOP...it clearly is not what I remembered seeing in that opening in the trees.

We then turned another 90o to the right to soak in that great view of the camper filled rocks,  with the steps leading up to the porch into the dining room.  The one made famous by the camp photographer and those great panoramic shots!  Boy were we devastated by what we saw - no dining room, no wooden stairs no porch...but lots of stone work and a very large house!!!  A bitter pill to swallow to say the least!  From this angle you can clearly see how the rock have deteriorated...but we could not resist a few poses so in honor of all those that have slid their butts across the rocks, perched themselves on the edge of the seat, arched their back and looked straight ahead for instructions on when to start singing...we give you Sing 2002...we were a little short on participants...

Slightly different view!!!  I like the old background better!
